At James Harris, LLP, James assists clients with all matters relating to maritime contracts. The very nature of the maritime industry, which is by definition and in reality global in scope, requires a careful approach to the preparation and execution of the key documents in maritime transactions.
James advises clients on the drafting, review and analysis of these key documents, including charter parties (bareboat, time and voyage), contracts of affreightment and bills of lading. James also assists with the relevant aspects (e.g., dispute resolution, choice of forum and law clauses) of other transactional documents, such as ship’s mortgages and financing documents.
James also support clients in other transactional projects, including the conduct of due diligence projects related to the acquisition of maritime corporate entities, the analysis of new lines of maritime business and the corporate structure and governance of inter-related maritime entities.
